maio_cast.PNG_1533482350Even though the UN has organized four international conferences on women and some of the EU countries tried to carry out platforms for action, the situation of women has not been improved even in democratic Western countries. The existing ‘techo de cristal’ (the crystal roof) is one of the factors that precludes women from balancing work and domestic environment and maintains discrimination towards women regarding inheritance and social andocentricism. Therefore, a formation of equal opportunity agents is instrumental to uproot gender inequality and sexism with an aim to create effective tools to combat discrimination of women and to promote equal opportunities and positive actions.

The Master’s Degree in Equal-Opportunity Agents for Women in the Rural Environment corresponds to the current demands for equality agents to reach national and international political compromises. The Master’s Degree has been designed to train experts in the application of equal opportunity policies in administrative and social environments and is oriented towards specific formation on women in the rural areas, providing a focal point on female immigrants. The specialized training allows to criticize, to deconstruct, to transform, and to understand in a better way social inequalities arising from gender identity based on sexual conditions of the individuals. This gender identity establishes unbalanced hierarchies in which one’s sex and gender create a barrier which difficults the empowerment of women.
The possibility to do the Master’s Degree Online allows for and facilitates the conciliation between the family life and permanent formation.
